Carjacker crashes stolen Civic into school bus

A carjacker grabbed a 64-year-old woman on Henderson Highway on Wednesday, May 30. 2018, and demanded her keys. He then fled in her 2008 Honda Civic.

The thief the sped eastbound and turned on to Lagimodiere Blvd heading north cutting off a dump truck. The driver of the stolen car then began weaving in and out of traffic and continuing to speed as he passed other vehicles.

As the carjacker approached Headmaster Row he spun out of control, did a 180 spin through the construction zone and crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic crashing into a school bus before coming to a stop in a ditch.

Both the car and bus were seriously damaged. The bus driver, the only occupant on the bus, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

The driver of the car tried to flee but witnesses grabbed him and held him for police. When police arrived they noticed the suspect showed signs of intoxication. He also suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Connor William Muswagon, 20 from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery, Driving While Ability Impaired, Fail or Refuse to Provide Breath Sample, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Driving While Disqualified, Possession of Cocaine

He was detained in custody.
