Winnipeg Police have arrested two male suspects after they were allegedly involved in stealing a vehicle at gunpoint, pointing a weapon at a youth and getting involved in a hit and run.
Just after 7:00 pm a caller told police they were concerned for the wellbeing of a repairman who had been working in the 700
Police spotted the vehicle near Selkirk Avenue and McGregor Street and members of the Tactical Support Team were able to stop it a few blocks later. A 23-year old male and a 15-year-old male were taken into custody.
One of the suspects had a replica handgun in his possession at the time of his arrest.
Police learned that the 20 minutes the suspects had been in the vehicle they had allegedly hit another vehicle before taking off near Isabel Street and Ross Avenue.
The pair also allegedly pointed a firearm at a driver on Notre Dame Avenue and pointed a firearm at a 14-year-old male then robbing him earlier in the evening.
Anthony Ray DANIELS has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Armed Robbery Using a Restricted Firearm or Prohibited Firearm X2
- Pointing a Firearm X3
- Fail to Exchange Particulars
- Drive Without a Licence or With Invalid Licence
A 15-year-old male from Winnipeg has also been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Armed Robbery Using a Restricted Firearm or Prohibited Firearm X2
- Pointing a Firearm X2
Both have been detained in custody.
