Just before 11:00 pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, a group of people stopped a man driving near Beverley Street and Ellice Avenue by standing in the road. The 61-year-old driver was told to hand over his vehicle but when he refused he was pulled from the car and the suspects drove away in it.
Minutes later the carjackers slammed the stolen vehicle, a 2003 Nissan Sentra, into a building on Sherbrook Street near William Avenue. A witness told police that the driver and a passenger took off on foot after the collision. Another adult male was found in critical condition in the backseat of the car and was taken to hospital.
Police say that several cars in the area were also hit.
