Man responding to online ad gets carjacked at gunpoint

Winnipeg Police say that a 36-year-old male was carjacked at gunpoint Monday evening, October 15, 2018.

It happened just after 8:00 pm when the victim responded to an online ad for an electronic device and went to pick it up near Selkirk Avenue and McKenzie Street.

The “seller” pulled a gun during the transaction and ordered the victim to walk away from his 2004 Ford Explorer. The suspect then got into the vehicle and drove away.

Police say that they searched the area but were unable to spot the stolen SUV. The victim was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
