Care home resident could face charges after attacking two people

A male resident in his sixties may be facing charges after he allegedly attacked two people in Misericordia Place personal care home.

According to police a woman in her 30s was attacked on Christmas Day by the male who had stabbed her in the forearm. The victim was taken to hospital, treated and released.

Police learned that the male had also attacked and threatened a staff member of the PCH two days earlier on Thursday, December 23, 2021.

The accused was arrested by officers and taken to hospital for a medical and psychiatric assessment.

He faces possible charges of Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats
