First Nations Police hand out $2542 ticket for supplying cannabis to youth

One of the first tickets since legalization for supplying cannabis to a minor was issued by Manitoba First Nations Police on Friday, October 26, 2018.

Police got a call from the school on Sandy Bay First Nation in the early afternoon saying that they suspected a 13-year-old student was under the influence of cannabis.

Officers interviewed the youth and he admitted to smoking the drug. The youth also told officers who supplied him.

Police located the “supplier”  and issued a ticket in the amount of $2,542.
