Calgary man facing drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Headingley

RCMP in Headingley made a major drug bust during a traffic stop on June 9, 2020.

Police say that they initiated the stop on Highway 1 in the RM of Headingley just after 1:30 pm.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a large quantity of drugs and Canadian currency including

  • 1537 tablets hydromorphone
  • 246 tablets oxycodone
  • 2487 tablets morphine
  • 114 tablets methylphenidate
  • 36 tablets of codeine
  • 12 g of cocaine
  • 60 g of cannabis
  • Over $10,000.00 in Canadian currency
  • And a variety of other prescription and non-prescription pills

The 44-year-old male driver was arrested and is facing a number of charges for his alleged involvement including Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x6, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime as well as offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police continue to investigate.
