Cadets Assaulted –

WPS Cadets got a snoot full of pepper spray Monday evening after they had detained a 17 year old youth for discharging the same substance at a 21 year old victim.

A dispute had occurred between the 21 year old victim and the youth when the victim confronted the suspect about his behaviour at the Forks Skate Park. 

While the suspect was being taken into custody by the cadets, a 16 yr. old friend of the 21 year old victim attacked the suspect hitting him with pepper spray. As a result, both Cadets were unable to avoid being struck as well. 

Three off-duty police officers from other jurisdictions happened to be in the area and apprehended the 16 year old suspect as he attempted to flee.
