Businesses, gathering attendees and people failing to self-isolate fined

Manitoba enforcement officers gave 112 warnings and 58 tickets related to breaches of public health orders surrounding COVID-19 last week (April 26 to May 2, 2021)

42 fines were issued to individuals in the amount of $1,296. 33 of those tickets were related to gatherings in private residences or outdoors and nine were issued to individuals for failure to self-isolate.

The province noted that 20 of the tickets were related to the rally at the Forks on April 25.

12 tickets were issued to individuals who failed to wear a mask in an indoor public place.

Four businesses were issued $5,000 tickets for breaching public health orders.

In addition to the number of tickets reported last week the province say that two tickets were issued related to a rally in Winkler on May 1 and four tickets were issued were handed out for a rally at the Winnipeg Law Courts on May 3. These numbers will be included in next weeks report since the fines were issued after May 2.
