BUSINESS | WALMART DROPS VISA IN MANITOBA

In the ongoing battle between two of the world’s largest companies Walmart Canada has fired the next shot by dropping Visa as a form of payment in Manitoba stores.

The move is an expansion of a position Walmart took over the summer beginning in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Walmart wants Visa to reduce the fees it pays the credit card giant to process payments. They claim they pay more than $100 Million annually to Visa.

Walmart has said that the ban on Visa in Manitoba will encompass all stores in the provinces as of October 24, 2016.
