Two suspects turn themselves in at Police HQ over bus shelter assault

Two brothers have turned themselves in at Police Headquarters for an alleged aggravated assault.

Police say that an assault occurred near Portage Avenue and Tylehurst Street in the early morning hours of October 13, 2018. The pair were allegedly assaulting a 41-year-old male in a bus shelter when a 48-year-old male intervened. The brothers then allegedly viciously assaulted the second male causing serious injuries to him. The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition and is still receiving treatment for injuries from the assault.

The male who had been initially attacked refused medical attention or involvement with police.

An 18-year-old male and a 20-year-old male walked into Police Headquarters on November 20, 2018, and were arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.

Both of the accused were released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
