The City of Winnipeg announced on Friday, August 26, 2022, that a new project at  Bronx Park Community Centre will see a new accessible spray pad and other park improvements.

The new spray pad will replace the existing wading pool and the project is expected to cost about $993,000.00 of which the Canada Community-Building Fund will provide $906,000.00 and the City of Winnipeg will provide $87,000.

“The idea of saying goodbye to our wading pool is made easier knowing the increase of accessibility that a splash pad provides to our young people,” said Evan Comstock, President, Bronx Park Community Centre. “We can’t help but be excited for the endless hours of amusement to be enjoyed at Bronx Park’s new splash pad.”

Construction on the project will begin in 2023 and the new pad is expected to be open for the 2024 season.
