Police have charged a Brandon woman in her 20s for failing to provide necessaries of life and abandoning her child.
The charges stem from an incident News 4 first told you about on September 27, 2018, when officers were called to a home on Willowdale Crescent after receiving a report from a security company about a baby crying in an apartment. When police arrived they found a baby in a home alone.
The mother of the child was located shortly afterwards and was highly intoxicated.
The child was taken into care by Child and Family Services.
