Brandon Police busted two people at a Brandon motel after they learned that a male at the motel was possibly in possession of firearms.
Just before 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018, a male was seen leaving the motel and taken into custody. As the man was being arrested police say a
.22 calibre handgun fell out of his waistband. Although the handgun was not loaded officers say that it was identified as stolen. Officers also found a couple of bags of cocaine and $450.
As the investigation unfolded police learned that a female was still in the motel room. She was ordered out and taken into custody.
A search of the motel room netted police a loaded .22 calibre rifle, ammunition and about 5 grams of cocaine. They also seized drug trafficking paraphernalia.
The 23-year-old male has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Unauthorized Possession of Firearms, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Unsafe Storage of Firearm & Ammunition and Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Crime.
The 20-year-old female was on an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation.
