Two men facing weapons charges after Brandon Police witness assault.
Around 2:15 am on Sunday, July 7, 2019, Brandon police officers were near 10th Street and Rosser Avenue on an unrelated matter when they noticed a male riding a bicycle nearby.
As the bicyclist passed two other men one of the men pointed a gun at him. The male on the bike retaliated and sprayed both men with pepper spray before riding away.
Police quickly arrested the male on the bike, a 19-year-old from Winnipeg, he was detained in custody and is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Breach of a Weapons Prohibiton Order.
The male who was seen pointing the handgun at the bicyclist was also arrested. Police recovered the weapon that turned out to be a pellet pistol. He has been charged with Possession of a Weapon and Use of a Firearm during the Commission of an Offence.
Both suspects will appear in a Brandon court in September.
