Brandon Police have a 32-year-old male in custody after he allegedly stole a vehicle in the Wheat city Sunday morning, February 3, 2019.
Officers located the stolen Chevy Traverse in the laneway between 15th and 16th Street. The driver tried to flee officers and backed up into a police vehicle then drove forward hitting a second police cruiser.
Police ordered the driver out of the vehicle but he refused. Officers removed him and placed him under arrest.
The suspect was charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Driving, Assault with a Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon and Drive while Prohibited.
He was detained in custody.
