Brandon Police investigating a series of vehicle fires

Brandon Police are investigating a series of weekend fires to vehicles in the Wheat City.

Police say that between Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23, 2019, two vehicles were discovered to have damage to the interior that consisted of charred items and smoke damage.

Both the vehicles were parked on the same block of McDiarmid Drive.

At this point in the investigation police do not know what specifically caused the damage but they have taken both vehicles for further investigation.

Early Monday morning, June 24, 2019, a third vehicle was set on fire, this time on Russell Street. In that instance, police say a witness saw a suspect start the fire by igniting a gas can. The witness was able to put the fire out.

Investigators do not know if all three incidents are related.

The investigation continues.
