Fraudsters arrested after using stolen credit card

Brandon police have arrested a 54-year-old woman and a 26-year-old male in connection to the illegal use of a stolen credit card.

The owner of the card told police they had no idea how the suspects got ahold of the card.

Police say that between May 17 and May 20, 2019 the suspects allegedly used the card to purchase about $10,000 worth of goods and services. Police say the suspects made 41 transactions at 22 Brandon area businesses and ATMs.

Some of the businesses and automated tellers had video surveillance which police used to identify the suspects.

Police executed a search warrant at the suspects residence on Thursday July 4, 2019, and seized a number of items purchased with the stolen credit card including:

  • a BBQ
  • Cell Phones
  • Clothes
  • Perfume
  • Various household items

The suspects will be appearing in court on August 29, 2019.
