A Brandon Police officer will have to have continued treatment after he was stabbed with a syringe containing possibly hazardous fluids.
Just after 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2019 police were called to a home in the 900 block of Queens Avenue.
As the first officer arrived on scene he heard screaming coming from inside the residence.
When the officer entered a 25-year-old female confronted the officer while brandishing a syringe containing an unknown substance.
The female attacked the officer and stabbed him in the head with the needle. The female stated during the fight with the officer that she wanted to kill him. She also tried to get other people inside the home to also kill the officer.
The injured officer was able to take control of the woman and hold her until his backup arrived.
The female was taken into custody.
The officer was treated in hospital and released.
