Brandon Police are investigating a homicide dating back to March 1, 2019
Police say that they were called to a Willowdale Crescent home around 7:40 am for the report of a male suffering from cardiac arrest.
By the time officers arrived the male was dead.
An autopsy report later revealed that the male did not die of natural causes.
Police say that they won’t be releasing the cause of death so as to not jeopardise the investigation.
The victim was identified as Eugene Kakewash, 49 from Brandon.
The investigation is ongoing and a number of people have already been spoken to by investigators.
Police are asking anyone who may be able to provide additional information about Kakawash’s death to call the Major Crimes Section at 204-729-2345.
