Police knew man was illegally driving
Early Monday afternoon Brandon police pulled over a driver that they knew did not hold a valid drivers licence. The vehicle was stopped in the 500 block of 6th Street. The driver of the vehicle was under a recognizance and as part of that a condition that police could search his vehicle.
As police searched through the vehicle they found 7 cell phones, 61 grams of Marihuana, 7.7 grams of Methamphetamine, $620 in cash, assorted pills and other items that are indicative of drug trafficking. The drug police recovered were packaged for sale.
The man’s recognizance says that he not possess and cellular phones and not possess any illegal drugs.
Officers arrested the 30 year old man from Brandon and have charged him with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Marihuana
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Methamphetamine
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime
- Breach of Recognizance X 2
The street value of seized drugs is estimated at $750. Police continue to investigate to determine what the assorted pills are. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in Court on Tuesday.
