Two men facing weapons charges after shotgun fired from vehicle

Brandon have two men in custody after a shotgun was fired from a vehicle Monday evening, April 9, 2019.

Police say that just before 6:00 pm they responded to reports of gunshot in the 800 block of Brandon Avenue.

An 18-year-old male from Winnipeg and a 22-year-old male from Brandon were located in the area and an investigation uncovered that while the pair had been sitting in a vehicle they got into a verbal altercation with the two other males. Those males allegedly pepper sprayed the men in the vehicle.

One of the vehicle occupants pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and fired at the two males outside the vehicle.

The males on foot took off before police arrived on scene. Officers don’t know if either of the males were injured while being shot at.

The males in the vehicle are facing a number of charges including Pointing a Firearm, Careless use of a Firearm, Discharge Firearm with Intent, Unauthorized possession of a Firearm, Possess weapon Dangerous, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possessions of a Weapon in a Vehicle and Possess Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition.

The investigation continues.
