The 20-year-old driver of the Grand Am was also injured in the crash. Police say the driver showed signs of intoxication and a demand for blood samples was made to her by investigators. She consented to the samples being provided. The driver remains in hospital in Brandon.

Four people were in the Chevy Traverse at the time of the collision. None of them was hurt but the 20-year-old driver was given a demand for a roadside sample of her breath because police believed she had been drinking prior to driving. The sample resulted in a “warn” reading that indicates she had consumed alcohol before getting behind the wheel but was below the limit that would have gotten her arrested. Officers issued her a 72-hour driving suspension because of the “warn” reading.
Police are waiting on results of the blood samples taken from the driver of the Grand Am. Charges are pending against the 20-year-old but won’t be laid until the analysis of her blood is complete.
