The City of Brandon announced on Monday November 23, 2020 that one of their employees in the Brandon Police Service Bylaw Unit has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the city the employee has not worked since Wednesday, November 18 and was not symptomatic while they were working. The employee began getting symptoms on Nov 19 and went for testing on Friday November 20.
In a written statement the city said ” The employee had some contact with the public on their last day of work and contact tracing is ongoing. The Brandon Police Service building and vehicles that the employee used are being deep cleaned today, Monday, November 23rd, 2020.”
The employee is self-isolating and has been in contact with public health officials
This id the fifth employee of the City of Brandon who has tested positive for COVID-19. The first employee to test positive was identified on August 13, 2020.
