Assault charges laid after Brandon business gets note seeking help

Brandon Police have arrested and charged a 45-year-old male after employees from a local business called police about an assault to the man’s family member.

On Monday, December 9, 2019, another family member went to the business and handed a note to the employees. The note was a plea for help. It said that another family member was being abused and asked that the employees call police. The note writer said that they were unable to do that themselves. The note also gave an address on where to send officers.

Officers went to the home mentioned in the note as part of their investigation and found the victim.

Police learned that the accused had allegedly threatened and assaulted the victim on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

The male suspect was arrested while officers were at the residence. He was charged for his alleged involvement with Assault and Utter Threats.
