Brandon Burglar blasts BBs at bungalow attempting Break-in

Brandon Police have a 19-year-old suspect in custody after he tried to break into one home and then pointed a weapon at the owner of another.

Police say that around 10:15 am Sunday, January 21, 2018, a homeowner on Cornwallis Crescent told them that a male had attempted to break into their home. The homeowner scared the would-be burglar and as he was fleeing he pulled a handgun and shot a bb at the window.

As police investigated they learned that a home, also on Cornwallis Crescent, had just been broken into and when the robber was confronted he pulled the black handgun and pointed it at the resident then fled.

Police searched the area and found the suspect hiding in a neighbour’s yard. He was taken into custody.

The suspect is now facing charges for Break and Enter, Attempt Break and Enter, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Assault with a Weapon.

 

The male suspect was detained pending a court appearance.

 

 

 

 

Police say they recovered the weapon and no one was injured during the incident.
