Brandon Police Service is investigating a July 3, 2022, assault that was streamed live on Facebook.

According to police, around 7:30 pm a suspect walked up to a male from behind during an event in the 500 block of Conservation Drive and assaulted him. The victim suffered minor injuries and received medical attention.

Police say that the community event was being live streamed at the time of the assault and captured it on camera.

The victim and suspect were known to each other and the assault is believed to have been a result of a decline of a friendship.

Investigators identified the 46-year-old suspect and located him on July 12, 2022, when he was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Assault.

The suspect was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on August 29, 2022, to answer to the charges.
