Winnipeg Police received a report of a body in the Red River Wednesday evening from a passerby.
An area of the St. Vital Park shoreline was taped off as officers recovered the badly decomposed remains.
At this time, the deceased is identified as a male. The identity of the deceased will not be released, pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy is pending and the cause of death is unconfirmed.
