Search and Rescue responders have recovered the body of a 42-year-old boater who went missing after the boat he was in capsized on Lake Winnipeg on Saturday, June 13, 2020.
RCMP along with the Hutterite Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART), and the Canadian Coast Guard, recovered the body Around 2:50 pm on Thursday June 18, 2020.
Five men, including the missing boater, a 73-year-old male who died onshore and three other men aged 37, 48 and 65 who survived were in the boat when it capsized near Belair. The three survivors were rescued by other boaters on the water.
The RCMP, HEART, Canadian Coast Guard, Victoria Beach Fire and Rescue, CFB Trenton, and the countless community members came out everyday to help local the missing boater.
