Female body pulled from Red River is Missing Woman

Just after noon on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, emergency crews responded to reports of a body being found in the Red River in the 600 block of Kildonan Drive.

Winnipeg Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit pulled the body of a female out of the river.

Investigators have identified the deceased person as April Carpenter. Carpenter had gone missing in Winnipeg’s west end on April 26, 2018. Police had asked for help locating her on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

 

 

 

 

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

 

The investigation is continuing and police are asking anyone who may have had contact with April on Thursday, April 26, 2018, or since to contact them at 204-986-6508.
