Blizzard conditions are expected to once again develop in Southern Manitoba, including the City of Winnipeg, on Saturday and again on Sunday says Canada’s national weather forecaster.
Environment Canada issued Blizzard Warnings and say that winds gusting at more than 50 km/r combined with falling snow will cause “extremely poor visibilities through Saturday afternoon.” The winds are expected to ease Saturday evening as another storm moves into the area bringing with it up to 15 cm of snow in some areas.
Strong winds up to 50 km/hr will once again develop on Sunday morning and bring blizzard conditions as it combines with falling snow.
As blizzard conditions wane colder temperatures will move back into the region and remain in the area for most of the week.
According to Environment Canada blizzard warnings are issued when widespread reduced visibilities of 400 metres or less are expected for at least 4 hours.
