Brandon Police bike patrol got a workout Thursday afternoon, August 9, 2018.
An officer noticed a man on a bike being chased by security from Town Centre. A police bike patrol officer gave chase as the suspect travelled westbound into oncoming traffic on Rosser Avenue. The 27-year-old suspect didn’t get too far though and fell off his bike as officers conducted a tactical stop in the 1200 block of Rosser.
The man was taken into custody and police learned that he bound by an undertaking to live in Regina. The male was also identified as the person responsible for the theft of more than $200 worth of lottery tickets on July 31, 2018.
A search of the suspect revealed a driver’s license belonging to a female from Brandon. When police contacted the woman they learned that her vehicle had been entered overnight and several items, including her license, had been stolen.
The accused was detained in custody.
