Three people were attacked with bear spray after interacting with an aggressive male in the area of Hugo Street and Corydon Avenue late last night.
Police say that at around 11:30 pm an adult male and adult female were walking in the area when a male approached them asking for a cigarette. When he was told they didn’t have one the male began yelling obscenities and following them. soon afterwards the suspect sprayed both victims with pepper spray.
A few minutes later the suspect approached a woman standing outside a building in the 600 block of Corydon Avenue this time asking if he could buy a cigarette. The woman gave him one and the suspect then asked her if she wanted to buy any drugs. The woman said she was not interested in buying drugs and tried to walk away but was blocked by the suspect.The suspect then pulled a utility knife and demanded money. The woman ran away and the suspect gave chase trying to hit her with pepper spray.
Dylan Scott Sinclair, 23 from Winnipeg was arrested by police and charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Robbery
- Assault with a Weapon X2
- Possess Weapon X2
- Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X2
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X2
He was detained in custody.
