Just after 4:30 pm a man armed with a knife walked into a Notre Dame Avenue bank and while concealing his identity robbed the teller and a customer cashing a cheque. The customer was also assaulted say police.
As the armed robber attempted to get away he was stopped by a security guard. A customer in the bank also intervened and the suspect was taken to the ground and held until police arrived.
Police learned during their investigation that the suspect was allegedly responsible for two other bank robberies. On December 3, 2019, he is accused of robbing a bank on Lombard Place and on December 10, 2019, he allegedly robbed a bank on Ness Avenue. In both those robberies, he also concealed his identity.
53-year-old Lee Patterson is facing charges for his alleged involvement of four counts of Robbery, three counts of Disguise with Intent and Possession of a Weapon.
He was detained in custody.
