Alleged bank robber’s bail hearing put off until November 2.

Alleged bank robber Steve Vogelsang appeared in court in Medicine Hat, Alberta today. His bail hearing was remanded until November 2, 2017.

Vogelsang was arrested October 21, 2017, for allegedly robbing two banks in the Alberta city on October 18 and 19.

Vogelsang is well known in Winnipeg. He worked as a sports reporter and news director for CKY-TV the CTV station in Winnipeg for many years before becoming a journalism instructor at Red River College from 2002 until 2011. He and his wife then moved to Nelsen, British Columbia in 2011 before Vogelsang returned in 2016 after splitting from his wife.

The local broadcast community was shocked to learn the news that one of their own was accused of the crime.

Police in Regina have said they are now looking at Vogelsang as a person of interest for at least one bank robbery in their city and have been in contact with Medicine Police service.
