Winnipeg Police have released details about another date that turned bad after a male victim answered an ad on an online dating site.
Police say that back on December 19, 2017, a male made a date to meet a female at a residence in the 300 block of Maryland Street. The man went to the home just after midnight and was greeted by two females. Once he was inside the females demanded money from the victim. When he refused to pay for what he thought was a consensual encounter three men, who were hiding somewhere else in the residence, confronted him and demanded he pay.
Police say that when the victim refused to pay he was attacked. As the victim tried to escape the situation the three men continued to assault him during which time he was hit with a metal object in the upper body.

At this point, the assailants bound the victim and forced him into his vehicle. He was driven to his home and the suspects stole a number of items from it.
The victim was then driven to another location and he and his vehicle were abandoned. Eventually, the victim was able to free himself and call the police.
Officers went to the Maryland location and found and arrested five suspects
A 33-years-old female, 27-years-old male, 15-year-old and 17-year-old female, and a 16-year-old male were arrested and held in custody. They were charged with multiple offences, including Aggravated Assault, Forcible Confinement, Kidnapping, and Robbery.
On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, a 16-year-old female who was wanted in connection with the incident turned herself in.
Police say that they have also arrested a 20-year-old male but he was released on a promise to appear in court.
