Winnipeg Police have an 18-year-old female in custody and she is facing attempted murder charges after a confrontation at a home on Toronto Street early Christmas morning.

Police say that just before 3:30 pm police and medical crews responded to the report of a stabbing.

When they arrived a woman in her 20s was found suffering from serios injuries. Paramedics took her to hospital in unstable condition but she has improved and is now in stable condition.

Police say that the victim and the suspect knew each other. The victim was stabbed several times and had the keys to her home stolen during the attack.

Vera Raquel Grives from Winnipeg was arrested around 8:30 pm December 25, 2018 from an Ellice Avenue Hotel. She has been charged with Robbery on top of the Attempt to Commit Murder charge.

Grieves was detained in custody for her alleged involvement.
