Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an assault in the 400 block of Cumberland Avenue on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
When officers arrived around 9:20 p.m. they located an adult male suffering from apparent stab wounds according to witnesses. Police provided emergency medical aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to hospital in unknown condition.
Officers cordoned off an area around the beer vendor beside the former Balmoral Hotel. A pool of blood could be seen on the sidewalk within the protected area.
