RCMP are investigating an aggravated assault at Milner Ridge Correctional Centre on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
Police say that they were called to the provincial jail near Lac du Bonnet around 7:10 pm after four inmates were involved in a fight.
A 38-year-old male inmate was taken to hospital in Winnipeg for non-life threatening injuries
Investigators say that three inmates aged 23, 25 and 39 have yet to be charged due to the ongoing investigation.
RCMP say more information will be released when it is available.
This is the second reported assault at a Manitoba correction facility on Saturday. Earlier in the day Brandon police reported an assault at Brandon Correctional Centre that sent an inmate to hospital.
