Woman assaulted and robbed while waiting for a bus

Police and paramedics were called to a Winnipeg Transit bus in the mid-afternoon on Saturday, October 7, 2017, after a woman told the bus driver she had just been assaulted and robbed while waiting for the bus.

Emergency crews took the woman to hospital in stable condition.

Investigators say that the woman was waiting for a bus around 2:00 pm at Jefferson and McGregor when she was approached by two females.

One of the suspects pulled the victim backwards. The victim fell hitting her head on the sidewalk. While on the ground the two females kicked the woman multiple times then stole her money and cell phone.

Police are looking for two female suspects described as:

Suspect #1: Indigenous female, late teens, approximately 5’1″ with a small build and red/brown hair

Suspect #2: Indigenous female, late teens, approximately 5’1″ with a large build and long dark hair
