On June 25, 2016 at approximately 5:15 p.m., two male youth were walking in the River Heights area when they proceeded to light several separate fires involving trash bins. The incidents occurred near the following locations:
- 700 block of Cambridge Street
- 700 block of Cambridge Street
- 1200 block of Grant Avenue
- 1500 block of Corydon Avenue
- Grant Avenue and Nathaniel Street
Damage is estimated at approximately $1000.00
Responding Patrol members observed one male youth fleeing who was arrested and taken into custody. The second suspect was arrested later a short distance away.
A 13 year old male and 14 year old male are facing the following charges:
- Arson Causing Damage to Property x 5
- Possession of Incendiary Material
The pair were released on a promise to appear.
