Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 16-year-old male with four counts of arson, eleven counts of failing to comply with sentence and theft under $5,000.
According to investigators, the youth was responsible for starting four fires within 10 minutes in the Point Douglas area early Friday morning.
The rash of arsons started when the youth set a mattress on fire at one address on Euclid then set a second mattress on fire minutes later in the same block. He then set a garage on fire on Lorne Avenue followed by a chair that was sitting on a porch on Granville Street.
The youth was also allegedly responsible for robbing a liquor mart in late July where he stole several bottles of liquor.
He was detained in custody.
