A 26-year-old male was arrested on arson charges after he allegedly set items on fire inside a vehicle.

Police say witnesses told them that the man then took off his clothes and added them to the fire as he sat in the vehicle. People in the area tried to convince the man to get out of the burning vehicle but he refused.

When police arrived the passenger seat was fully engulfed in flames. The male was pulled from the vehicle and the fire was put out by officers.

The man was taken to hospital.

Police say they believe that the suspect had consumed Meth prior to the incident.

He was released on a promise to appear in court.
