Arson charges in Tyndall Avenue fire

Winnipeg Police Service has charged a 24-year-old male in connection to a fire in a townhouse in the 100 block of Tyndall Avenue on Saturday July 10, 2021.

According to police there were called to the area around 5:15 am for the report of a male attempting to set a vehicle on fire. Area residents were able to scare off the suspect but they noticed the nearby building in flames. The residents were able to self-evacuate without injuries before firefighters arrived.

Damage estimates due to the fire exceed $100,000.

Officers in the area were able to locate and arrest the suspect.

Trevor Brandon Ternent has been charged for his alleged involvement with three counts of Arson – Disregard for human life and Arson – Damage to Property.

Ternent was detained in custody.
