Winnipeg Police say a 17-year-old female has been arrested and is facing arson charges after it is alleged that she set a house on fire in the 200 block of Prichard Avenue on Friday, December 29, 2017.
According to investigators the accused, along with two others were drinking alcohol and taking methamphetamines in a suite at the home when an argument broke out over $10 and the female suspect was kicked out.
A short time later she returned and according to police broke a large window in the house and set a fire.
Fire crews spent hours in the frigid temperatures fighting the resulting blaze but when it was all said and done the house was totally destroyed. Everyone inside the home was able to escape and there were no injuries reported
The 17-year-old female has been charged for her alleged involvement with:
- Break Enter and Commit Arson
- Arson causing damage to property
- Arson with disregard to human life (x5)
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Fail to Comply with Sentance (x2)
She was held in custody.
