Less than three weeks after getting arrested for 16 different arsons in Winnipeg River Jacob Parrenas Tavares, has once more been arrested for allegedly starting eight more fires.
Officers arrested Tavares at Milner Ridge Correctional Centre where he was being detained.
Investigators say that during the same time period as the first set of fires he was arrested for they have now attributed the additional 8 arsons to him.
Between May 1 and May 8, 2018, Tavares is accused of setting fire to:
- 100 block of Furby Street (fire set to a garage)
- 300 block of Simcoe Street (fire set to a garbage bin)
- 400 block of Simcoe Street (fire set to a fence)
- 300 block of Beverley Street (fire set to a recycling bin)
- 600 block of Home Street (fire set to a garage)
- 600 block of Furby Street (fire set to a garage)
- 900 block of Cathedral Avenue (fire set to a garage, which spread to a second garage)
- 600 block of Furby Street (fire set to a utility trailer)
The damages from the additional fires are estimated to be about $62,250.
Tavares remains in custody.
