    ARRESTS | TWO ARRESTED WITH SAWED-OFF SHOTGUNS

    On September 2nd, 2016 at around 9:30 pm, an adult male went to a home in the 500 block of Aberdeen Avenue to try and get back stolen property he had located through an online classified advertising service. At this time, a suspect adult male pointed a firearm in the victim’s direction.
     
    Police were called and went to the residence, where they observed the suspect male placing a rifle and a firearm case containing a sawed-off shotgun with ammunition into a vehicle.
     
    The suspect and a number of other individuals were taken into custody 
     
    Police also found a pellet gun within the residence.
     
    Leslie Kabe Thomas, 31 from  Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with: Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon (x3), Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (x3), Possession of Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations (x3), Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle (x2), Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order (x3), Fail to Comply with Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2)
     
    Thomas was detained in custody.
    Three and a half hours later, in the early hours of Saturday, in the same are of the city police arrested another man in a separate incident involving a firearm.
    Around 1:00 am on Saturday, a patrol unit was travelling in the area of Andrews Street and Aberdeen Avenue when a suspicious male was seen holding a bag containing what the officers believed to be the protruding handle of a firearm.
    The male was placed under arrest and officers located a loaded sawed-off rifle within the bag.
    Kenley Ryan St. Paul, 36 from Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with: Possession of a Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Prohibited /Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order (x2)
    He was held in custody.
