On Wednesday October 5, 2016 Winnipeg Police Marihuana Grow Operation Unit executed warrants at two homes. One was located in the 500 block of Young Street and the other in the 600 block of Rathgar Street.
Police entered the residences and found hundreds of marihuana plants and grow-op equipment. Three men were arrested and charged as a result of the search.
This is what officers found:
500 block of Young Street
199 – Cannabis marihuana plants – estimated street value $222,880.00
60 grams harvested marihuana – valued at $600.00
Grow operation equipment – valued at $12,450.00
Over 10 tons of ammunition (.223)
Two males, 44 and 42 years old are facing several drug and weapon related offences.
600 block of Rathgar Street
208 – Cannabis marihuana plants – estimated street value $232,960.00
Grow operation equipment – valued at $6,720.00
A 41 year old male is facing several drug related offences.
All three accused were released on a promise to appear.
