Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged three men in connection with a 2015 arson at a condominium complex in the 2400 block of Waverley Street.
The blaze happened around 2:30 am on October 21, 2015, at the complex that was under construction at the time. Although no one was injured in the fire damages were pegged at more than $5 million.
Investigators say that another building in the 100 block of Southview Crescent was also broken into around the same time as the fire and that the same people who set the Waverley Sr. fire were linked to the break-in.
Investigators used DNA evidence and a number of other forensic techniques and identified and arrested three suspects for the blaze and break-in.
Police have charged Jordon Charles Dooley, 24 from Amaranth, Jesse James McLeod, 23 from Morris and Nolan Scott Wozny, 22 form Winnipeg each with two counts of Break Enter and Commit-Place, two counts of Arson Causing Damage to Property and Possession of Incendiary Material for their alleged involvement.
All three men were detained in custody.
