Winnipeg Police have arrested a 41-year-old male for a liquor store theft and an assault and robbery from a non-profit business on Selkirk Avenue.
Police say they ran across the suspect on Redwood Avenue last night, November 28, 2018, while investigating an unrelated incident.
On October 4, 2018, the suspect allegedly stole several bottles of liquor from a store on Grant Avenue.
On October 12, 2018, he allegedly confronted a security guard at a Selkirk Avenue non-profit business and said he had a firearm. The pair struggled before the guard was shoved and the suspect stole cash from a money drawer. Another struggle happened as the suspect was attempting to flee with two other employees causing the suspect to drop the stolen cash.
Sheldon Brent Maytwayashing, 41, has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Robbery
- Theft Under $5000
- Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Offence
- Possess Weapon
He was also arrested on outstanding warrants for offences, including robbery, that occurred in Lake Manitoba First Nation.
Maytwayashing was detained.
